Top 4 Websites for Tracking Fibromyalgia Symptoms
Tracking Fibromyalgia is the Key to Management
We all want to be healthy productive individuals. Even those of us with Fibromyalgia. We often find the path to healthy living, however, to be an uphill battle, and its easy to get lost in the barrage of painful and unforgiving symptoms.
Tracking your symptoms will give you a feeling of productive control and will help you explain to your doctors exactly what is happening to you.
This hub will help you find the best four websites, pen and paper tools, and mobile apps to do just that.
This hub is not just for the confirmed card carrying Fibromyalgia patients, but its also for those who suspect that they may have Fibromyalgia. Tracking your symptoms closely and carefully will help your doctor diagnose you even if it turns out to be something other than Fibromyalgia.
Doctors need good data, and that is the goal of this hub -- To get good data on symptoms, activities, and other events/circumstances related to the problem.

#1 - Symptoms Journal
Symptom Journal is in beta and is currently free to join. This web tool is designed to be used exclusively online with exportable data.
Symptom Journal’s health tools were developed for patients by patients to help people with chronic health conditions reduce their symptoms and live a healthier life. Symptom Journal is unique in the breadth of tools that are available to members and we are dedicated to assisting individuals reduce their symptoms
The trackable conditions include more than just Fibromyalgia, and each member is allowed to select two of the conditions to monitor. For example, Fibromyalgia and Depression often run together, and these are two of the available conditions.
The full list includes:
Adult-ADHD, ADHD-Child, Anxiety, Adult-Asperger Syndrome, Child-Asperger Syndrome, Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Fibromyalgia, Graves’ disease, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Hormone Imbalance, Hyperthyroidism, Hypothyroidism, Migraine, Multiple Sclerosis, and Rheumatoid Arthritis
Although a great resource, this website is not for the faint of heart. One has to be dedicated to tracking because the questions are extensive and may take a little bit of time each day to fill out. Remember, data is good! However, we all have time constraints.
My recommendation is to try it out and see if it fits your needs. If not, move on to something else. You are in control - remember that!

#2 - MedHelp
MedHelp is my personal favorite because it offers a very user friendly environment with visualized data entry and export.
Like Symptom Journal, MedHelp covers many more conditions than just Fibromyalgia including non-syndrome or disease trackers like water consumption, food journals, ovulation cycles, and many more.
Two other features I find particularly attractive are:
- Its free
- There is no limit to the amount of trackers one can use at one time

#3 - Best Fibromyalgia Apps of 2014
Many of us want to track our symptoms on the go, which means that we likely want an app for our Android or iOS device that adequately addresses our symptoms. This is completely reasonable, and the good news is that apps like that do exist.
Kristeen Cherney wrote a great article on Healthline titled "Best Fibromyalgia Apps of 2014" that covers 10 apps for Android and iOS. She discusses each app, lists the prices, and adds a little bit of additional information about Fibromyalgia.
My personal favorite app in her list for Android is FibroMapp. FibroMapp allows quick entry for "Flare Ups" and longer detailed entries for regularly scheduled times. Its intuitive and easy to use as well.
