"Seekers" of LG Rumor Touch (Virgin Mobile or Sprint) Apps- My Ongoing List of Tested Games
We are "Seekers" and We've Found!
Its been a struggle to figure out how to install games and apps to the LG Rumor Touch. Now that we know it is possible, we have had to forage through app site after app site, virus scan after virus scan, and test install after test install.
The goal of this hub is to make your life easier by simply telling you what games work and where to get them. I have tested about 100+ games in the last two days. My phone is begging for mercy at this point *laugh*.
(9/12/2010) "Rumor Touch Apps (Virgin Mobile)" as a source is offline until further notice. I will find alternate locations to find these apps. Morte Behold Downloads is a good source and umnet.com is also a good potential source to replace the apps that should be found at "Rumor Touch Apps (Virgin Mobile)".
A new site intended to make up for this loss is up, but the app list and games are limited (but may grow in the coming days as it is only a few days old):

Files come in zip form and contain a JAD and a JAR. All are tested and work. You may want to visit my hub on how to put the games in the game folder on the phone, as these apps are not edited to do that.

im having so much trouble doing this, i tried the umnet download to phone and it says the files are too big for my phone then i tried making a folder and the files were already jar files but nothing showed up!!
i tried it 5 times and it always says unsupportd file format and i changed all of the jars to jads
so i got angry birds....but wen i try to click on n e of the levels..there is nothing there to select and every level has the word NO after it...wtf?

@theo, you are supposed to go to "My Stuff" and look for the new folder.
i put the jad and jar files in but when i go to media folder its not there. Help?

@ryan, no, I would personally keep them as a backup, but no, they do not need to remain on your phone or in the APPS folder because they are installed to phone memory.
after you install the game do you still need the jad and jar files?
@anna, the JAD file is probably corrupt or the game just does not work. I would check the JAD file (see my hub on how to do this). Also, if that looks ok, try making a new JAD file from the JAR using JADMaker program.
I tried to put "Snake Reloaded" from VMTouch.com on my phone, and when I went to install it it said "Installation from memory card to phone is failed." Why is this not working?
@katiee, I found one "unblock me" but it was only a trial and it was in russian. I'll keep my eyes open.
Yes, installing apps is the same process as installing games.

I still have issues with some of the programs and games, perhaps I don't have the proper copy of the file.

@Francisco, once past the #9, it does not add numbers but it is still installed.
It is possible that your phone does not have enough space???
Images stored on the phone are often the culprit of not enough space-make sure you move them to the SD card often to free up your space.
I can't add more than 11 apps. Is there a reason? I tried deleting some, but they still appear in the 'Media Card' folder. My apps are listed from 0-9 and instead of a 10 I get image of a small folder. What can I do? I want to install new stuff.
Hey I got a ton of apps, i was wandering if all of the apps from Morte Behold will work on the LGRT since it says its for the behold, other games u didn't list i was wanderin about were - COD 3, 4, 5, Ferrari GT, GTA 4, Hitman BM, MGS, Medal of Honor, Lost Planet 2, NBA Pro B-Ball 2010, yep im stocked 4 wen my phone arrives, ;), so if u could get back 2 me that'd b awesome my email is bischoff.brandon@gmail.com
I'm trying to create JAD files, but I have a mac and the only programs I can find are PC only. (JADmaker, Jad wizard, JADgen).
Is there a program for Macs?
Can I do it myself?
Is there a way the Touch can do it?

@proletarian, you probably have a jad problem. See my hub on a quick fix for that. I'll post another location if I find one, maybe try mobile9?
Luis.. short and easy way? Call Virgin Mobile. They're clueless about these phones and will replace them at the drop of a hat.
Option 2) Go to the phone and type in ##RTN#
This will restore your phone to default. If you don't already have your 'Secret Code', you'll have to do some leg work, and follow my method here:
None of the files for Carmen Sandiego from umnet worked on my phone. I am absolutely DYING to play this game again :( Are there any other sources for that game?
@Luis, It sounds like you did what I would have done by re-installing. Perhaps try removing it before downloading and installing so that you are not "overwriting". I've never encountered someone with this problem before with a Virgin Mobile App (at least, I assume its VM). Perhaps, if you recently installed another app, try uninstalling it and see if that fixes the problem too, as another app installation may be interfering???

ok so i really wanna do this but idk what JAR and JAD things to use the 1ns i downloaded were unsupported file formats same with the games. Can u plz give me links to download the JAR and JAD things and the angry bird game. I have to do this from my phone thanks.
